Head Nurse plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a unit. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Being a Head Nurse ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. Additionally, Head Nurse requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. SCHEDULE:
Weekdays 7:30am to 3:30pm, with paid holidays including the Thanksgiving, December, February and April school breaks, plus additional accumulated paid leave.

1. Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, learning environment for up to eight children under the age of 18 months old, working alongside two other classroom team members.
2. Advance physical and intellectual competence: Provide activities and opportunities that promote physical development and encourage communication, curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
3. Support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance through attachment, initiative, self-regulation and positive guidance.
4. Establish positive and engaging relationships with families of enrolled children.
