Being a Head Nurse - Obstetrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Obstetrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Obstetrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Job Title: Nurse Manager - Women's Health/Respiratory Therapy/Obstetrics Cost Center: 301451326 MqaHos-Womens Health Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Mon-Fri; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Nurse Manager-Hospital coordinates, directs and manages the twenty-four hour delivery of optimal patient care within an assigned area of a Marshfield Clinic Health Systems hospital. This role is responsible for the recruitment and retention of the frontline patient care staff and for guiding and leading our nurses to provide the best patient care services in accordance with the organizational goals and initiatives. This role interactively works with physician and allied provider staff on their unit(s) with the goal of best patient outcomes and patient satisfaction. This Manager position will oversee the Women's Health, Respiratory Therapy, and OB Clinic departments. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration, healthcare administration or other healthcare related field or an Associate degree/Diploma in registered nursing, Associate degree in business administration, or Associate degree in healthcare administration. An Associate/Diploma degree requires the obtaining of a bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration, healthcare administration or other healthcare related field within three years of starting in the position. An annual evaluation of coursework completed towards their bachelor’s degree will be required. Nurse managers hired prior to March 1, 2019 may be grandfathered from meeting the new education requirements. Preferred/Optional: Master’s degree in nursing, business administration, healthcare administration or other healthcare related field. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Three years management experience; or two years management experience with a master’s degree. Preferred: Four years’ management experience in a healthcare field. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
