Head Nurse - Obstetrics directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the delivery room and birthing units. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and obstetrics staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of obstetrics patient clinical records, and writes reports on obstetrics room staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Obstetrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Obstetrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Obstetrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Obstetrics typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities Include: 

    • Meals prepped following the Child and Adult Care Food Program and maintenance of food service records.   
    •  
    • Perform quality control measures as requested by the Food Service Supervisor. 
    • Manage the food service operations in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor. 
    •  
    • Assists in training other workers about kitchen processes and meals. 
    •  
    • Maintains accurate food service records, including inventory sheets, production records, and temperature logs.   
    •  
    • Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in the central Kitchen and with the food.  
    •  
    • Clean and sanitize central kitchen and food service equipment. 
    • Lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.  
    • Other duties may be assigned. 

     

    Specific Requirements: 

    • High School diploma or equivalent experience. 
    • 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills a must.
