Head Nurse - Obstetrics jobs in New York

Head Nurse - Obstetrics directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the delivery room and birthing units. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and obstetrics staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of obstetrics patient clinical records, and writes reports on obstetrics room staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Obstetrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Obstetrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Obstetrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Obstetrics typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     **Experience: • 24 months of Obstetrics and Gynecology experience is preferred. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license in hand at the time of application. • COVID vaccination required for onboarding. Declinations not accepted. Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process. Additional Details: Main duties will be Labor and Delivery. Shift: 7a.-7p, 36 guaranteed hours. Will also work Med/Surg as needed. Education and/or Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelor’s degree preferred Previous RN experience preferred 2 references from last 12 months (Any reference type) Certifications: • BLS (Basic Life Support) • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) • STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway.
