Head Nurse - Obstetrics directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the delivery room and birthing units. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and obstetrics staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of obstetrics patient clinical records, and writes reports on obstetrics room staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Obstetrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Obstetrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Obstetrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     Seeking Registered Nurses to join our OB Department! The RN will provide nursing care to all patients in the respective unit, demonstrating the ability to triage assess patients needs to ensure adequate care and nursing standards are met, observes and initiates appropriate nursing treatments, and reports symptoms and conditions of patients to medical staff. In addition, the RN will perform tasks such as assisting with invasive procedures, administering medications, documenting, and assisting other staff members on the team.

    What You'll Need:

    • At minimum, Associates degree in nursing. BSN is preferred.
    • Current active Colorado Registered Nurse license.
    • At minimum, current AHA and BLS Certification, required upon hire.
    • RN's in OB may require certifications such as ACLS, PALS, etc.

    What You'll Do:

    • Assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to accepted nursing and hospital standards
    • Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
    • Maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
    • Observing patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
    • Responding to all situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
    • Documenting nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
