Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Amerisafe Group is currently seeking an Occupational Health - Registered Nurse who is truly looking for PRN work. An ideal candidate is semi-retired, or can work a flexible schedule as needed. In this role, you would cover vacations, intermittent days off for our regular nurse, or requests for additional nursing coverage during site maintenance. Typically shifts are 8 hours.
