Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Clinical Imaging · Accurately perform diagnostic exams of patient as requested by provider using proper MA, KV, Time and Distance parameters. · Provide proper education of procedure to patients, their family, and others as needed · Employ proper radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. · Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination to patients. · Perform quality control activities on radiation emitting equipment and darkroom equipment to ensure optimum image quality.

Administrative · Collect appropriate forms for recordkeeping · Provide information to appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. health department). · Verify that an annual and successful inspection is performed by a Radiation Physicist.
