Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    Clinical Imaging

    · Accurately perform diagnostic exams of patient as requested by provider using proper MA, KV, Time and Distance parameters.

    · Provide proper education of procedure to patients, their family, and others as needed

    · Employ proper radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

    · Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination to patients.

    · Perform quality control activities on radiation emitting equipment and darkroom equipment to ensure optimum image quality.

    Administrative

    · Collect appropriate forms for recordkeeping

    · Provide information to appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. health department).

    · Verify that an annual and successful inspection is performed by a Radiation Physicist.

    · Be aware of what is happening in clinic/department and the organization by attending clinic/department meetings, reading emails and regularly checking information on the organization’s intranet site.

    · Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.

    · Perform other duties as requested by Clinic Administrator to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office.

    · Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

    · Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    · Graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiologic technology. Must pass ARRT examination/registration in striving for self-improvement within twelve months of employment.

    Experience:

    · Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.

    License(s)/Certification(s):

    · Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

    · High school diploma required if work is performed in a complex CLIA lab.

    · Must have a current Iowa/Illinois/Wisconsin permit to practice.

    · Must maintain ARRT registration.

    · Current license to perform radiologic procedures.

    · BLS

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    · Strong interpersonal skills.

    · Ability to work as a team member.

    · Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.

    · Able to write, read, comprehend and speak fluent English.
