Head Nurse - Occupational Health jobs in El Paso, TX

Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Overview: 

    A day in the life of an Occupational Health Nurse will include using your clinical knowledge and our training to provide onsite occupational health and preventative care to help reduce and treat injuries and illnesses in the workplace. Our primary goal is to develop strong relationships and assist in the overall well-being of the working athletes we serve.

    Job Duties:

    • Provide ethical, evidence-based medical services to the clients' employees both onsite and in virtual evaluations while working within the recommendations of the Medical Director
    • Perform phlebotomy and collect urine samples as necessary
    • Perform and/or coordinate New Hire physical examinations.
    • Provide onsite first aid and wellness screening
    • Provide case management and return-to-work services
    • Assess and educate patients on medication lists, illnesses, medical history, injury prevention methods, and test results
    • Accurate and timely electronic documentation and support of client-specific reports

    Qualifications:

    • Current License/Certification Registered Nurse in Texas
    • Current CPR certification
    • Current COHN certification or ability to obtain within the first 3 years of employment
    • Appropriate certifications and/or state license in good standing required
    • Verbal and written Spanish bilingual capabilities 
    • Must meet the physical demands of on-site work needs; ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and or squatting*reasonable accommodations will be considered
    • 1 or more years of experience in occupational health preferred
