An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pragmatic and hands on Head of Health, Safety and Environment to join our team operating across the East of England. The successful applicant will be accountable for developing a positive culture for Health, Safety & Environment and leading and facilitating the development, delivery, implementation, measurement, compliance and maintenance of the Group Companies’ related processes and systems.

As Head of Health, Safety and Environment you will engage, support, and positively influence directors, and managers to fulfil their responsibilities for health, safety, and environmental aspects. You will develop, review, and update health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.

You will be confident, assertive and resilient, with excellent presentation skills and well-developed communication skills. Influential and collaborative where needed to ensure common goals are achieved along with being driven and determined to deliver in challenging situations.

You will possess:

• A minimum of 5 years previous experience in a Senior Operational Health, Safety and Environmental role.
• NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent, although not essential, candidates with proven ability and experience will be considered and training support will be provided for the right candidate.
• A Chartered membership of IOSH.
• Demonstrable experience of completing internal audits.
• Experience of Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Management; ideally ISO standard.

The role will be full-time, 40 hours per week; Hybrid working is available. A full driving licence and the ability to regularly travel to other venues across the East of England is an essential requirement of this role. A company vehicle will be provided to assist with your duties (electric vehicle available). Relocation assistance will be considered.
