Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The health services that became the Anthony L Jordan Health Corporation (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants of Rochester, NY and in Canandaigua, N.Y. 


    Jordan Health is now seeking an Occupational Health Technician who, under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer, is primarily responsible for helping identify health risks, link patients to appropriate resources, make positive lifestyle choices, and establish baselines for regular health monitoring. The Occupational Health Technician will support the Operational Health Practitioner to effectively operationalize the principles of the Occupational Health Services (Clinic).

    Requirements

      

    The Occupational Health Technician will ensure that:

    · The department’s patients receive high quality, consistent, competent, patient-centered care. 

    · Patient flow allows the department to serve optimal number of patients. 

    · Is a strong Jordan team player. 

    · The department is in full compliance with all requirements related to provision of care. 


    Education and Experience Required:

    · Two years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of related education/training and experience. 


    Licenses and Certifications: 

    · Current BLS/CPR through the American Heart Association. 

    · Infection Control Certificate. 

    · CAOHC certification. 

    · Breath Alcohol Technician certification. 

    · Pulmonary Function Testing certification. 

    · Urine Drug Test (DOT) certification. 

    · Hair Drug Test certification. 


    Certifications will be paid by Jordan if the right candidate is identified. The successful incumbent will be required to remain an employee in good standing at Jordan Health for a minimum of one year following completion of certification, or the cost must be returned to Jordan (pro-rated up to one year). 


    Special Skills, Knowledge Required: 

    · Excellent computer skills. 

    · Excellent customer service skills. 

    · Interviewing techniques (as this applies to interviewing patients/families for data gathering). 

    · Strong communication and inter-professional skills. 

    · Problem solving abilities. 

    · Bilingual or multilingual status may be required based on needs of the department/organization and will be specified at the time of posting or interview.
