Head Nurse - Occupational Health jobs in Toledo, OH

Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Occupational Health – Arrowhead Medical Center

    Job Summary:

    The Occupational Health LPN is responsible for the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Physician. The LPN functions as an integral part of the health care team to provide the highest quality of care to the patient by preparing and assessing patients for provider visits. In this position, the LPN will observe, record, and report patient responses to medical care provided during appointments.

    Essential Functions:

    • Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members in meeting patient/family needs
    • Implements the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care in accordance with the LPN scope of practice
    • Appropriately labels and packages specimens, as trained
    • Assists in providing indirect care through various clerical or administrative duties as assigned by the registered nurse
    • Acts as a chaperone for health care providers during patient examination as requested
    • Assists provider with procedures, treatments, and interventions
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education:

    • High School Degree or GED
    • Completion of an accredited LPN Program

    Certifications:

    • Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association

    Experience:

    • 1 year of work experience in an Occupational Health setting (preferred, not required)

    • Excellent at maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding professional ethics
    • Excellent teamwork skills displayed through experience collaborating with other nurses and doctors to improve patient and family education programs
