Head Nurse - Operating Room directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the operating room. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and operating room staff nurses. Being a Head Nurse - Operating Room supervises preparation and maintenance of patient clinical records and writes reports on operating room staff performance and services rendered. Maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Additionally, Head Nurse - Operating Room requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Operating Room manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Operating Room typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary and Qualifications


    Seeking a registered Operating Room Clinical Manager in our ambulatory surgery center who provides clinical management and expertise over operating room nurses, surgical technicians and central sterile processing staff to ensure patients receive high quality, efficient care. As an operating room clinical manager, you will have the opportunity for future growth and upward mobility within the organization.


    What you’ll do:


    • You will manage and supervise all surgical areas of care
    • Establish and maintain an effective and supportive working relationship with your Administrator
    • You will ensure that the day-to-day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and policies of the center
    • Ensure sufficient staffing daily by notifying your team of scheduling changes
    • You will participate in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care provided
    • Accessible to your staff by providing breaks, ensuring coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages
    • Monitor your clinical area to ensure materials are provided for upcoming cases
    • You will facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures
    • You will delegate, coach, mentor and handle conflict resolution with your team
    • Ability to build trust and gain the respect of your team through effective leadership


    What you should have for this role:


    • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
    • Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure
    • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment ***online certification not acceptable
    • ACLS as required by facility
    • CNOR certification preferred
