Head Nurse - Psychiatric Unit jobs in Temple, TX

This position requires advanced Psychiatric Skill Sets. You must have experience prescribing and/or recommending psychotropic medications in a Psychiatric Setting.

Positions available in College Station, Madisonville and Centerville areas.

About us: Senior Psych Care provides fully integrative behavioral health services to the long term care and rehab patients in Nursing Homes. Services include individual, family, and group therapies provided by our team of psychotherapists; along with diagnostic evaluation and collaborative intervention between the therapy team and the psychiatric team. Our multi-disciplinary team realizes that this population has special physical, emotional, and social needs. The psychiatric team are board certified psychiatrists who collaborate with the psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Job Description: As a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant you will conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage prescribed psychotropic medications.

Qualifications:

• Mid-level Practitioner - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus!
• Must be licensed to practice as a NP/PA in TX
• Must have strong interest in mental health, psychiatric care for the geriatric population.
• All NP/PA applicants who are not psych certified are required to complete and pass a Geriatric Psychiatry Course within 30 days of employment.
