Head Nurse - Quality Improvement - Home Care develops and implements various activities to improve overall quality of organization. Participates in and serves as a resource to quality improvement committees. Being a Head Nurse - Quality Improvement - Home Care tracks and analyzes trends and outcome reports and advises management on areas to improve upon. May be responsible to ensure all institute or government regulations are adhered to. Additionally, Head Nurse - Quality Improvement - Home Care requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Head Nurse - Quality Improvement - Home Care supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. The Quality Improvement Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. The QI Coordinator willhelp ensure compliance with regulations governing agency programs, conduct internal audits, assist as needed with incident management and investigations and provide technical assistance to program staff.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conduct periodic internal program and department reviews and comprehensive audits,both planned and unannounced. These include corporate compliance audits, recordreviews, and observations of active treatment & staff-service recipient interactions. Audits will also be conducted for support departmentsincluding but not limited to CBC, HR files, staff credentials and training records.
-Review results of internal reviews with administrative staff, provide technical assistancefor correction and document all findings. Conduct follow-up reviews.
- Review significant events / incidents with administrative team. Ensure appropriatedocumentation is completed and notifications are made in a timely fashion, to agency and government personnel.
- Conduct incident & administrative investigations. Document findings and assistprograms to develop corrective/preventative measures and strategies to preventrecurrence.
- Participate in the agency Incident Review Committee. Conduct program spot-checks to ensure recommendations are addressed anddocumented.
-Serve on other agency committees or workgroups as needed.
- Carry out other tasks as delegated by Executive Director as needed
This is an in office position, M-F 8AM - 4PM; flexibility is necessary based on tasks and occurrences.
