Head Teller ensures the daily operational activities of the teller line are executed with accuracy and fulfill required service standards. Processes and records routine transactions, handles complex or unusual customer transactions, and answers more complex customer inquiries. Being a Head Teller depending on policy, may authorize certain transactions. Assists with teller onboarding, training, and guidance. Additionally, Head Teller is responsible for vault oversight and the daily auditing, reporting, and balancing processes. Oversees each teller's daily reconciliation and assists if needed. Ensures that tellers comply with all operating, regulatory, and security policies and procedures. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Head Teller supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Head Teller typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Position Summary

    A Head Teller is responsible for establishing, retaining, and deepening customer relationships by performing efficient and accurate banking transactions and other front-line duties. At CCFBank we are in the business of Making More Possible by delivering exceptional customer experiences every interaction, every day, this includes promoting our products and services and referring customers to appropriate departments to create long lasting relationships. A Head Teller is also required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of new accounts, teller, vault, safe deposit and branch operations, and is expected to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced tellers and other staff members and coordinate the daily operation of the Branch Tellers. This position will uphold and embrace CCF's Mission, Vision, and Values every day.


    Primary Responsibilities

    The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.     • Provides daily supervision to teller staff and assigns duties. Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, scheduling, approving timesheets, and interviewing candidates for employment.
    • Establishes proper identification of existing customers and determines need.
    • Receives and processes retail and commercial checking and savings deposits by determining that all necessary deposit documents are in proper form in accordance with banking policies and procedures.
    • Cashes checks, completes withdrawals and makes cash advances, accepts loan and installment payments, processes change orders and makes cash advances; confirms all necessary documents are properly authorized, are in proper form and are within authorized limits.
    • Reviews, approves, and places holds on checks presented for cash or deposit in accordance with federal regulations
    • Balances cash drawer daily and verifies cash being returned to the vault.
    • May assist in opening and closing the vault daily; is responsible for the ordering, managing, and balancing of the vault and ATM currency and coin.
    • Performs and assures Delivered Transaction procedures in processing night deposit transactions and mailed transactions are completed according to policy and procedure.
    • Performs safe deposit duties by opening accounts, controlling access, assisting customers and processing affiliated reports.
    • Plays a positive role in the career development and growth of Teller staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills
    • Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment. Reviews and approves incentive payments based on the established incentive program.
    • Promotes and cross-sells the Bank's products and services by assisting customers in their selection to meet their needs or refers to other bank personnel.
    • Makes decisions regarding the opening of new accounts; completes forms requiring customer signature(s); checks credit history; accepts initial deposits; prepares all documents and items pertaining to checking accounts, savings accounts and certificates of deposit for processing.
    • Provides effective customer service and assists in resolving problems within given authority.
    • Answers telephones, handles customer requests or concerns and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.
    • Completes various branch logs and checklists based on daily branch activities including, but not limited to Daily Branch Log, Delivered Transactions Log, Drawer over $7,000 log and Cash Transactions over $5,000 log.
    • Processes debit/credit card orders, debit card disputes, address changes, check and deposit slip orders, endorsement stamp orders, incoming and outgoing wires, stop payments, change orders and deposit slip corrections.
    • Types routine letters reports and forms.
    • Maintains files and records, copies, scans and faxes documents, and updates information in accordance with bank procedures.
    • Assists other branches and departments as assigned.
    • Promotes the Bank through outside activities to include but not limited to attending and/or participating in CCFBank sponsored events and community organizations as a representative of CCFBank.
    • Assures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations; adheres to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities that are specific to the position.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Education Qualifications

    • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
    • Substitution: Three (3) years of directly related full time experience performing the functions outlined above may be considered in lieu of the degree.
    • Two (2) years of customer service experience.
    • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
    • In evaluating candidates for this position, CCFBank may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position.

    Licenses, Certificates, and other Requirements

    • Must successfully pass criminal background and credit check.
    • Skill in computer terminal and personal computer operation; word processing, spreadsheet, and banking software programs.
    • English skills (oral, written and comprehension) sufficient to effectively communicate with all internal and external customers.
    • Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
