Head Teller ensures the daily operational activities of the teller line are executed with accuracy and fulfill required service standards. Processes and records routine transactions, handles complex or unusual customer transactions, and answers more complex customer inquiries. Being a Head Teller depending on policy, may authorize certain transactions. Assists with teller onboarding, training, and guidance. Additionally, Head Teller is responsible for vault oversight and the daily auditing, reporting, and balancing processes. Oversees each teller's daily reconciliation and assists if needed. Ensures that tellers comply with all operating, regulatory, and security policies and procedures. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Head Teller supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Head Teller typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Function

    Responsible for the direct supervision of teller personnel engaged in the processing of customer transactions, the maintenance and control of vault cash; assisting tellers by answering questions and assisting with problems; performing all duties of a teller; providing training to teller personnel.
    Responsible for a variety of duties relating to the opening and processing of new accounts of all types, the cross-selling of institution services to customers and prospective customers; providing support to other sales personnel, i.e. documentation, etc., may take loan applications as directed.

    EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
    Experience
    Minimum 2 years previous teller experience, customer servicing experience necessary and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with using Microsoft Office products.
    SkillsProficient computer skills. Superior ability to interact with customers, precision, accuracy, and attention to detail, reliable, and flexible – ability to multi-task. Neat and professional appearance. Ability to recognize opportunities and suggest/cross-sell banking products and services. Basic understanding of accounting functions Excellent telephone etiquette. Willingness to learn new tasks, coachable and must be a team player. HoursThe successful candidate must be willing to work approximately 40 hours per week; must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some Friday evenings until 6 p.m. and some Saturdays until noon.
