Head Teller ensures the daily operational activities of the teller line are executed with accuracy and fulfill required service standards. Processes and records routine transactions, handles complex or unusual customer transactions, and answers more complex customer inquiries. Being a Head Teller depending on policy, may authorize certain transactions. Assists with teller onboarding, training, and guidance. Additionally, Head Teller is responsible for vault oversight and the daily auditing, reporting, and balancing processes. Oversees each teller's daily reconciliation and assists if needed. Ensures that tellers comply with all operating, regulatory, and security policies and procedures. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Head Teller supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Head Teller typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Process financial transactions accurately and timely in a friendly and professional manner. The variety of transactions may be completed via the lobby, drive-thru, night-drop, mail, or ATM.
Balance daily work and assigned cash drawer, and research differences where applicable.
Actively listen to our customers, and communicate in a friendly, positive manner always, even in difficult situations. Demonstrate quality customer service by incorporating the Legendary Service Standards.
Recognize and interpret customer needs and cross-sell bank products / services ensuring recommendations are customer centric to meet the needs of the customer.
Make referrals to other lines of business for traditional and non-traditional products and services. Actively participate in the branch sales program and goal achievement.
Perform teller functions in accordance with established bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school Diploma or GED Certificate.
Cash handling and / or customer service experience preferred.
Basic math skills, Intermediate PC and typing skills, and the ability to count currency required.
Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy required.
Strong customer relations skills and ability to communicate and work well with employees and customers in a cooperative, positive manner.
Must enjoy customer interactions including actively looking for referral opportunities in a customer-centric manner.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and ability to lift 20 lbs.
