Head of Anesthesiology is responsible for the efficient operation of anesthesia services. Develops, implements, and maintains anesthesia procedures and practices. Being a Head of Anesthesiology works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Manages a staff of anesthesia technicians and nurses. Additionally, Head of Anesthesiology requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The Head of Anesthesiology manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Head of Anesthesiology typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Crouse includes the main hospital, 2 ASC’s, and an Endo Center. You will find a collegial anesthesia environment as well as supportive working relationships with the surgeons and OR staff.

General, GYN, Bariatrics, Robotics, Ortho, Spine, Crani’s, Thoracic, Vascular, Urology / Renal, ENT, Eyes, Plastics, Podiatry, Endo, EP / Cath Lab, Healthy Peds
Current open shifts are 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts. Call is voluntary and not required. Post-call day off. Additional pay for call is offered.

Requirements
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and / or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
- Current license as a registered professional nurse
- Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
- Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists

CRNA’s are encouraged to work to full scope including regional anesthesia.
