Manages a staff of anesthesia technicians and nurses. Additionally, Head of Anesthesiology requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The Head of Anesthesiology manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Head of Anesthesiology typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     • Implement accurate safe patient centric anesthetic care
    • Completes thorough anesthesia apparatus safety check and all monitoring equipment to be used during the delivery of a given anesthetic
    • Complete pre-anesthetic assessment
    • Obtain and/or verifies patient consent
    • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
    • Induction, maintenance, and emergence form anesthesia
    • Monitoring of the patient’s physiological condition
    • Performance of clinical intervention as needed
    • Accurate documentation in the anesthesia record
    • Protects patient health information in all forms
    • Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care
    • Continuously engage in professional development and improve professional competency

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Possess and maintain a valid American Board certification- Anesthesiology
    • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted state medical license based on requirements of assigned hospital and practice BLS certification, Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate
    • Proficient with charting in electronic medical records. Currently using EPIC at our sites
