**Head of School - Salem Montessori School- Salem, Virginia*

**Position Overview:**

Salem Montessori School (SMS) in Salem, Virginia, seeks an experienced, visionary Head of School to lead our established institution into a new era of growth and excellence. The educational and care programs at Salem Montessori serve children from birth through adolescence in five different programs: Infant, Toddler, Primary, Elementary, and Middle School. 

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, community builder, Montessori leader, and exceptional communicator. As the Head of School, you will champion the school’s mission, oversee operations, and nurture relationships within the community.

**Required Qualifications:**

- Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field

- Eligibility to obtain state childcare licensing

- Five years of administrative experience that must include supervising, orienting, training, and scheduling staff

- One year of programmatic experience in an educational setting

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- MACTE-recognized Montessori teaching credential

- Experience in regulatory, personnel, budget, and fiscal management

- Experience in school or educational administration

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop and implement a strategic plan focused on program enhancements, community building, governance, and financial resources.

- Uphold and articulate SMS’s mission and core beliefs.

- Oversee the school's vision, integrating Montessori education with efficient school operations.

- Foster open communication and collaboration among the administration team, faculty, and community.

- Lead and execute all aspects of school operations, demonstrating strong business acumen.

- Support financial strategic planning and maintain adherence to school governance.

Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 annually D.O.E.
