Head of Home Care leads and directs the daily operations of a home health care agency. Establishes and implements quality standards for patient care. Being a Head of Home Care measures and monitors patient satisfaction and outcomes. Ensures that all operations and reporting requirements comply with regulations. Additionally, Head of Home Care requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Head of Home Care manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Head of Home Care typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     You don’t mind getting a little dirty … this could include (but is not limited to) assisting the patient with activities of daily living such as providing assistance with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair), ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, and other household chores.

    You don’t have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.

    You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to:

    • Assisting with the change of ostomy appliances
    • Reinforcement of dressings (non-sterile)
    • Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device)
    • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
    • Assisting with self-administered simple urine tests for sugar acetone or albumin (may not interpret results)
    • Measuring and preparing special diets
    • Measuring intake and output
    • Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)
    • Application of an external (condom-type) catheter
    • Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint

    Must Haves:

    • High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
    • We prefer six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities) But, we are willing to train the right individual
    • Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
    • Current CPR Certificate is recommended, we will schedule you for CPR training if you are not certified
    • Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
    • Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
    • Have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

    Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
