May create quality standards and monitors the implementation. Additionally, Head of Housekeeping may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. CACS Head Start is now hiring a Health Lead. The Health Lead performs a variety of duties for the Head Start and Early Head Start program, as directed by the Nurse and Health Services Manager. The Health Lead monitors health records of Head Start children for potential problems. Initiates and works with community health agencies to provide health services.
The rate of pay is $24.89 per hour, this is a full time position.
Qualifications
Education:
Training in the healthcare industry, such as medical assistant, paramedic, medical technician or related.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
One to five years of related experience in community health resources, health services or delivering services to pre school children in low income families.
1 to 3 years of experience in the medical field required.
Experience with scanning, faxing and maintaining confidentiality.
Proficiency with data entry.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Arranges and administers necessary screenings for Head Start children in accordance with EPSDT periodicity and Head Start Performance Standards.
Enters and attaches documentation of completed health requirements as needed and as described in the CACS Health Manual
Documents all health concerns and attaches documentation of care plans as needed and as described in the CACS Health Manual
Provides consultation to classroom staff relevant to children's health and safety needs, as needed
Assists with getting needed medications, devices, and equipment to carry out the plan of care in the classroom, as needed under the direct supervision of the LPN or RN.
Reviews child files to determine each child's health needs and complete the child's health summary, as needed
Enters and attaches documentation of completed health requirements as needed and as described in the CACS Health Manual
Assists with getting needed medications, devices, and equipment to carry out the plan of care in the classroom, as needed as directed by the nurse
Works with health associates maintaining inventory and distributes health supplies according to classroom and program needs. Reports needed supply requests to Health services manager
Provides consultation to classroom staff relevant to children's health and safety needs, as needed and determined by the nurse
Completes a variety of computer tasks related to the health services department.
Reviews child files to determine each child's health needs and complete the child's health summary, as needed and reports to nurse
Assists with ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement including program planning, implementation, and evaluation
Coordinates with the Nurse as needed
Assist with other duties as defined and/or requested by an Administrator or Supervisor when additional work is necessary to fulfill the obligations of the program.
Collaborates with health team to make decisions on referrals for parent trainings or classes offered onsite or to partner opportunities.
Helps review data to see what children need targeted interventions and plan trainings for families.
Works with medical and dental clinics to obtain follow up on all health requirements needing further evaluation and/or treatment (HSPPS 1302.42).
Documents all attempts to obtain health requirements, completed health requirements, and all follow up on children needing further evaluation and/or medical/dental treatment, as described in the CACS Health Manual (HSPPS 1302.42).
Reviews child files to determine each child's health needs and complete the child's health summary (HSPPS 1302.42).
Utilizes the Michigan Care Improvement Registry to obtain child immunization records, attaches it, and enters the status, as described in the CACS Health Manual (HSPPS 1302.42).
Completes evidence-based hearing and vision screens for Head Start children, under the direction of the Health Services Manager, as needed (HSPPS 1302.42).
Answers incoming phone calls and initiates phone contact in a professional and courteous manner as it relates to the health services department.
Retrieves and files health requests and other health related information.
Route health information and questions to appropriate program staff according to established protocol.
Inventories organizes, and helps distribute health materials and supplies.
Makes referrals for internal parent trainings or classes offered onsite or to partner opportunities.
