Head of Intensive Care Unit manages and directs operations of the Intensive Care Unit. Develops and implements policies to ensure that ICU operates within budget and complies with established performance standards. Being a Head of Intensive Care Unit requires a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Requires a valid state RN license. Additionally, Head of Intensive Care Unit typically reports to top management. The Head of Intensive Care Unit typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Job Description
As a neonatal nurse (RN NICU), you will care for premature and critically ill newborns. This will include infants with premature congenital disabilities, dangerous infections and other problems from birth until they are discharged. In addition to attending deliveries, you will be helping to formulate care plans for treatment and participate in complex medical and technical procedures. You will be a liaison with other members of the healthcare team and will teach parents about their babys condition, breastfeeding and help with other concerns they may have.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- ASN, ADN, BSN or MSN required
