Head of Nursing plans and directs all nursing personnel. Develops and implements nursing policies, objectives, and initiatives. Being a Head of Nursing reviews nursing department operations to ensure compliance with established standards. Ensures that all patients receive the highest quality care. Additionally, Head of Nursing requires a master's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to top management. The Head of Nursing manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plans, organizes, develops, and assists with the direction of the overall operation of the nursing department to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care in accordance with all laws, regulations, and Company standards. The ADON reports to Director of Nursing (DON).

Job Requirements:
- Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited school.
- Must possess current RN or LPN License and be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
- At least three years’ experience in nursing administration, including supervision, preferably in a long-term care setting. Knowledgeable about regulations and standards established by Medicare, Medicaid and state and city government.
