Basic Function: Responsible for providing leadership for the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of health-related education programs, activities, and services for the NIACC service area. Responsible for CE development and programming for nursing, Allied Health and multidisciplinary audiences.
Salary & Benefits: Salary of $51,600 - $62,000 based on experience. Benefit package includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance; dental, life and disability insurance; vacation and sick leave; and a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health-related area required. Master's degree in management, education or health related area preferred. Current Iowa Registered Nurse License or an RN license from a state recognized in the nurse licensure compact. Preferred two years' experience as a RN, with one year in long-term facility or meets recognized criteria of Department of Inspections and Appeals and the Iowa Board of Nursing. At least three years of successful teaching/coordinating experience with adults. Demonstrated participation in a team process in a health care setting.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for programming activities for health education, including credit, clinicals, continuing education, short-term certifications, inservices, and research dissemination.
Coordinate co-sponsored health-related continuing education programs.
Provide direction in assessment, problem identification, problem solving, planning, implementation, outcomes, and analysis.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and approval process of continuing education programs for nursing and multidisciplinary audiences.
Responsible to the Iowa Board of Nursing (IBON) for oversight and compliance of the providership of the institution.
Responsible for oversight and compliance of the State Approved Nurse Aide Training Program to the Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA).
Identify, utilize, and maintain expertise of available technology.
Recommends new technologies for purchase and implementation.
Prepare and monitor assigned budgets, records, and reports.
Identify and analyze trends related to revenue, expense, contact hours, and outcomes; plan for future initiatives.
Prepare funding proposals, program records, and reports appropriate to assigned areas.
Authorize payroll of part-time instructors.
Recruit, interview, and hire part-time instructors.
Responsible for the management, development, and supervision of adjunct instructors in designated area.
Responsible for the orientation, staff development, and evaluation of part-time instructors in designated area in accordance with NIACC's employment procedures.
Complete and/or provide input for timely and part-time instructor performance evaluations as required by NIACC and appropriate state agencies.
Responsible for the planning, development, and coordination of semester course schedules.
Prepare and maintain accurate course syllabi and course handouts for courses offered.
Through committee participation and department meetings, participate in the formulation, interpretation, and application of policies and procedures.
Collaborate in the development, assessment, revision, and implementation of curriculum of courses.
Assist in the development of short- and long-range goals for assigned areas.
Study trends and developments in education and integrate new techniques for education delivery.
Complete program reports as required by NIACC.
Responsible for the management of task forces and advisory committees and provide leadership for LTC programming in accordance with NIACC's guidelines.
Serve on committees and tasks forces as appointed.
Function as a consultant to internal and external individuals and groups regarding education practices, quality monitors, and regulatory and/or accreditation standards, including content and process when appropriate.
Participate in professional organizations and maintain professional growth as reflected in the annual performance evaluation.
Perform in a manner which strengths the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
