Being a Health Education & Coaching Director monitors, assesses, and reviews educational programs for effectiveness. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Health Education & Coaching Director typically reports to senior management. The Health Education & Coaching Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Personal, hands-on education from dedicated instructors will prove instrumental to Pearl Arts’ mission of transforming individual lives.

    The Ideal Candidate
    It is crucial for the Pearl Street Arts Center Education Director to epitomize a commitment to providing the best instructional environment possible. The Education Director will oversee all education programs, direct day-to-day operations within the Music Academy, and strategically plan all ancillary events, including recitals, weekly classes, camps, and promotions. An ideal candidate must embrace their role as a leader, showcasing an infectious enthusiasm for employees to emulate.

    As the sole full-time employee, the Director will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, and training all contracted Academy and education program employees and instructors. This position will function as the primary point of contact for customers and personnel. As such, the Education Director will be expected to demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, all while maintaining composure, a positive outlook, and a focus on equitable solutions. An open-minded approach to novel and unconventional solutions is essential.

    Job Duties:

    • Create and monitor weekly program schedules, coaching sessions, mentor programs, performance evaluations, education team meetings, training, onboarding, hiring of new team members, and other duties as assigned.
    • Work with the executive director to create and execute events such as recitals, weekly classes, and camps.
    • Coordinate with other personnel on seasonal promotions.
    • Track monthly growth and goal setting.
    • Hire and onboard new instructors.
    • Database, billing, scholarship, and financial operations.
    • Build customer and school relationships, assist as needed during peak hours, and manage daily tasks.
    • Handle customer relations issues that may arise.
    • Communicate across departments and with collaborators about events, programs, promotions, and Academy needs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    Required: High School Diploma

    Preferred: College Degree

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Required: Time management, leadership, relationship building, strong communication, customer service, project management, music knowledge, and experience working in a similar field.

    Preferred: Team building, attention to detail, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, decision making, experience leading/managing a team, conflict resolution, event planning, and delegation.

    Years Experience:

    Required: 2-3

    Preferred: 3-4

    Compensation and Benefits

    Annual Salary Is Negotiable pending knowledge and experience.
