Overview:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of maintenance personnel engaged in performing their required responsibilities while ensuring that the school buildings remain in proper condition through the implementation of the following duties.
Key Responsibilities:
· Facilitating the hiring and termination processes of maintenance personnel in coordination with the principal or pastor
· Supervising and coordinating the work of staff including directing work schedule and prioritizing work load for achievement of productivity goals
· Ensuring that maintenance tasks are performed safely, efficiently and in a timely manner
· Examining results of staff performance and conducting performance reviews
· Training of staff relative to safety, procedures, policies, etc. and ensuring that all state and federal building regulations are followed
· Maintaining staff time cards
· Acting as liaison between principal and contractors
· Preparing project bids and estimates
· Supervising project and inspecting final outcomes
· Implementing preventative activities and inspecting all buildings for needed repairs
· Preparing and submitting required reports including those associated with maintenance budget
· Caring for landscape and parking lots.
· Snow removal and ice melt application of all associated areas and completing snow log documentation
· Attending all necessary meetings
· Addressing all maintenance-related inquiries/issues
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
· Supportive of the mission of the Catholic Church
· Able to obtain satisfactory background checks and training applicable to diocesan requirements
· One year of practical general laborer and/or maintenance experience
· Prior management/leadership experience
· Strong knowledge of building, construction, electrical and plumbing codes
· Able to climb ladders and work at heights of at least 30 feet
· Experience with operating equipment such as floor buffer, snow blower, mower, trimmer
· Able to multitask and prioritize work for accomplishment in a timely manner
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform tasks in a friendly and respectful manner
