  • Summary:

    The Director of Education provides administrative leadership alongside the Campus Director for the campus. This position articulates the College’s mission and values for academic and instructional excellence, student retention, student satisfaction and participates in the general leadership and direction of the college.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Compliance

    • Oversee that the academic department adheres to federal, state, academic and accreditation standards to maintain full compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Accountable for Advisory Board meetings are held in compliance with accreditation standards.
    • Implement and Maintain compliance with all Legacy Education Academic policies and procedures.

    Textbook and Equipment

    • Manage textbooks, equipment, and lab supplies are available and/or delivered to students in a timely manner.
    • Supervise proper equipment maintenance is completed and documented in logs.

    Faculty Management

    • Participate in interviewing and provide feedback for faculty selection.
    • In partnership with Corporate Program Director onboarding of new faculty personnel file completion
    • Oversee human resource training completed within first two days (catalog quiz, DISC profile and training, harassment training)
    • In partnership with Corporate Program Director provide training to new faculty and completion of orientation checklist.
    • Conduct weekly faculty meetings to ensure that faculty are informed and up to date on campus matters.
    • Maintenance of faculty credentials and required documentation; distribute to HR for maintaining in the faculty file.
    • Supervise the completion of faculty development plans, faculty evaluations, and assessment of development plan, and distribute to HR for maintaining in the faculty file
    • Develop a solid leadership team of faculty to ensure retention outcomes, course scheduling, optimum use of faculty, and resolution of administrative issues.
    • Conduct regular faculty observation formally and informally to ensure a quality education and provide regular coaching to instructors.
    • Manage and ensure timely completion of faculty input on attendance, grading, and advising.
    • Supervise LMS weekly for faculty and student interaction and engagement.
    • Ensure Faculty submission of accurate Final end of course grades in a timely manner.

    Student Management

    • Lead student retention activities that include, but are not limited to: contacting absent students, student academic advising, being a point of contact for student escalation issues.
    • Participate in new student orientation.
    • Advise students through the duration of their program in meeting their educational goals and needs, including resolving student grievances, and documentation to be sent to Registrar for recording.
    • Participate in the resolution of conflicts between students and faculty.
    • Provide academic advising to students who request or need it.
    • Mediate personality and philosophical conflicts within program area overseen.
    • Supervise adequate tutoring and students services support are available for all students.

    Budget

    • Participate and assist Campus Director in maintaining fiscal responsibilities and budgeting for the campus.
    • Manage daily academic operations to remain within budgetary constraints and improve operating margins.
    • Review and authorize part time and full-time faculty payroll/PTO requests and managing faculty program within established budget.

    Administration

    • Manage campus specific program attendance, academics, retention, and certification rates/goals.
    • Monitor daily attendance and student daily contact
    • Complete and manage Student Academic Progress including evaluating, advising and monitoring.
    • Participate in the evaluation of transfer credit review and award.
    • Manage office of the Registrar.
    • Achieves operational objectives in line with campus, and corporate objectives with retention and re-entry goals.
    • Coordinate efforts with Human Resources to ensure all faculty, and direct reports understand job expectations and receive annual written performance evaluations and related documents.
    • Lead campus re-entry and disciplinary committee and efforts.
    • Advise Campus Director on all academic matters.
    • Core duties and responsibilities outlined in the DOE routine task list.
    • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
    • Serve as the last line of defense for classroom coverage.

    Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in computer applications, ability to think on your feet, and ability to handle multiple tasks. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Effective interaction across departmental boundaries must be maintained.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree or higher. Three year or more of instructional or formal training experience and leadership. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
