Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     • The Diabetes Educator is a registered nurse, who is committed to promoting wellness and growth toward self-reliance for staff, patients, and the community.     Job Qualifications:

    • Certification as a Diabetes Educator within 2-3 years of assuming position, required
    • Previous experience in clinical nursing practice
    • Specialized knowledge and care of patients with diabetes

    FTE: .8 (64 hrs/wk) M-F Days
