Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Principle Functions: The Health Educator is responsible for delivering/presenting all of The Source’s educational programs, including pregnancy education, childbirth classes, parenting education, youth Sexual Risk Avoidance Education, and any additional enrichment programming made available in both English and Spanish. This role includes teaching weekly group classes, including but not limited to adult and teen classroom presentations, teen leadership programs, and parent workshops.
