Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for determining eligibility for WIC Clients, evaluating client lab values, discussing nutritional requirements and prescribing WIC food packages. This position may also involve assisting WIC Dietician as needed. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
