Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Job Overview:
Develops standards of practice, standards of patient care and policies and procedures with staff and physicians/MPLs as per job role. Assists with implementation of clinical application through education. Conducts workflows for electronic health records as needed. Completes assessment of competency skills on end users in all clinical applications. Participates in decision-making, planning and problem solving operations of BH and ECIS in general through committee membership and ad hoc task forces. Designs, develops and enhances curricula, job aids as well as support systems and tools to meet end user needs. Provides direct hands on education and training during implementation as needed to all levels of providers. Consults with the staff nurse, Clinical Directors, physicians, administrators, and other professionals on the design, build, train and implementation of electronic health record.
