Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. - Serve as a liaison between the Community Relations Department, health center staff, and the community while continuing contact with social networks and community partners.
- Uses prospecting methods to generate community partnerships including initiating personal/business contacts, sourcing expansion opportunities through existing and new accounts, cold calling and educational presentations.
- Provide and support patients with resources, education, and referrals for the purpose of assisting patients with their chronic disease management.
- Attend key community meetings and events as a representative of assigned clinic, for the purpose of networking to build contacts, incorporation of HealZone strategies and community change outcomes.
