Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Job Summary:
Provides Diabetes education for inpatient and outpatient diabetes patients, pregnancy related diabetes patients, and/or nutrition clients in individual and group settings. Assists with the planning, developing, implementing and evaluating of diabetes education programs to ensure compliance with established goals and the realization of quality, economical health care service. Demonstrates the ability to meet the educational needs of the diabetes patient.
