Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Role:
The two main goals are to increase family stability and to reduce incidents of child abuse and neglect. We serve as the Region VIII Family Resource Center (FRC), which serves the Northwest Louisiana Region. The FRC offers a continuum of services to families brought to the attention of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). These services include Nurturing Parenting Skills, Resource and Referral Management, Community Outreach.

Qualifications:
You must possess a Bachelor of Social Work degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field. Examples of related fields are psychology; mental health counseling; psychological counseling; sociology; human service counseling; family and consumer sciences with a concentration in child, family, social services; guidance and counseling; human development counseling; or social services counseling.
A good driving record and adequate insurance is required.
