Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. We offer
This position provides both clinic and community education, which includes individual and group level education, community presentations and in-service training for staff. This position provides support to the respective infectious disease program at ICHS - for example grant-funded programs, Hepatitis B and C Program, HIV/PrEP program and related functions to the clinic. This position requires a multi-cultural, population health-based approach to health education with a focus on infectious disease, chronic conditions and reproductive health.
Hourly Pay Range: $24.80 - $36.31
Education - Bachelor’s degree in health education, nursing, public health specialty, social work or related field preferred. Educational, counseling, or teaching experience preferably in a health care setting may be substituted year for year for the education requirement.
Experience - Two years' experience providing individual or community health education.
