Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. What you'll do
Parents as Teachers is a home visitation program that provides health and parenting education and supportive services to families. Parent Educator educates families on prenatal health, infant/child health, and development, positive parenting practices, nurturing parent-child relationships, child safety, and education and employment. Designed to be a 3-year program and provide support to expectant parents from birth until the child is ready to enter kindergarten.
