Position Purpose
This role will develop and support biomedical informatics and data science services and initiatives at Research Computing. Collaborating with PIs, researchers and students throughout the entire research project life-cycle, from grant-writing, to research data planning, execution, publication and dissemination. Offering outreach, training, and knowledge sharing, to further the computational expertise of the research community across the Dartmouth campus.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Degree in data science, computer science, or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) field, followed by 5 years of progressive professional experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in common data science tools and techniques, such as Python and R, and statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS, Stata
- Proficiency in data management, manipulation, clean-up and storage techniques
- Strong statistical and analytical skills
- Experience providing high performance/throughput computing end-user services consulting support for Linux HPC clusters
- Ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Ability to network and collaborate with key contacts outside their own area of expertise.
- Strong communication with PIs, researchers, technical and administrative personnel, and students
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MSc, PhD.) in relevant field
- Significant experience performing academic research, incl. grant writing, budgeting, IRB
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques
- Familiarity with advanced data science, visualization and dashboarding tools (eg. Tableau) and techniques
- Designing, developing, porting, tuning, profiling, debugging and optimizing parallel and serial High Performance/Throughput Computing applications on Linux environments
- Ability to direct experience with and doing computation for one or more scientific research domains (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Computational biology.)
- Experience teaching training workshops in academic or technology fields to researchers and community members
