Health Informatics Director jobs in Elkhart, IN
Health Informatics Director directs an organization's clinical biostatistics or health informatics department. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. Being a Health Informatics Director monitors latest software and technology to keep processes up-to-date and efficient. Communicates with other departments and team members to identify new sources of data, ensure data is used effectively, and establish new initiatives. Additionally, Health Informatics Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Informatics Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Health Informatics Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Informatics Analyst I is responsible for projects relative to EMR application systems, follows plans as contrived by the Clinical Informatics Director, and has primary responsibility over the education of business-use employees, clinicians, and providers (both for workflow and the building of standard work processes for all associated service lines). Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a behavioral health field, or commensurate experience in clinical informatics or healthcare of 4 or more years.
- Certificate or Professional License: No certificates or professional license required.
- Experience: Experience with the use of EMRs, preferably with Nextgen. Minimum 1 year in applicable healthcare experience. Experience in issue identification, root cause analysis and solutions identification. Experience in end user training.
- Valid driver’s license and active liability insurance.
- Satisfactory results from criminal background check.
