Health Informatics Director directs an organization's clinical biostatistics or health informatics department. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. The Manager of clinical informatics integrates clinical science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice. The manager supports nurses, consumers, patients, the interprofessional healthcare team, and other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. Activities include but are not limited to collaborating with customers and other IT team members to partner to define problems. The manager collaborates with leadership to design, development, implementation, and evaluation of effective informatics solutions and technologies within the clinical, administrative, educational, and research domains of practice. In addition, they are responsible for advocacy, identification of issues, and opportunities related to clinical care across the care continuum.
The manager will work with individuals of other professions to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values. They will communicate with patients, families, communities, and professionals in health and other fields in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team approach to the promotion and maintenance of health.
