The OPH Bureau of Health Informatics (BHI) is hiring a public health epidemiologist for its analytics team. BHI is the primary health statistics, health systems analytic, and policy research resource for the department and the state. Your expertise in data collection, analysis, and research will be instrumental in identifying trends and providing valuable insights to inform public health policies and interventions. Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and reporting epidemiological surveillance data related to health outcomes in Louisiana.
Duties include:
Only candidates with experience in one of the following will be considered: SQL database operations, R Studio, Python, SAS, or Tableau. Prior to an interview, candidates will be asked to submit examples of proficiency with at least one statistical software.
Other skills:
- Strong knowledge of epidemiological principles and study design
- Experience with data collection methods and tools
- Ability to conduct literature reviews and critically evaluate scientific literature
