Health Informatics Director jobs in Schenectady, NY

Health Informatics Director directs an organization's clinical biostatistics or health informatics department. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. Being a Health Informatics Director monitors latest software and technology to keep processes up-to-date and efficient. Communicates with other departments and team members to identify new sources of data, ensure data is used effectively, and establish new initiatives. Additionally, Health Informatics Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Informatics Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Health Informatics Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Duties Description
    The Research Scientist 3 will be responsible for preparing data analysis consistent with the Bureau data management practices and procedures, data governance, data security, master data management, business intelligence, and data quality.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Review, understand and incorporate the Bureau data management practice and strategy and the Data Management Body of Knowledge.
    • Participate in discussions with cross bureau discussions related to data and reporting needs.
    • Devise methods to identify data trends and patterns.
    • Assess data structures to determine how to best provide data aligned with performance indicators for the Division beginning to end operations.
    • Research data sources and data tools and make recommendations for new sources and tools.
    • Use a variety of approaches (tabulations, visualizations, supervised and unsupervised learning, predictive and retrospective analysis, statistics, machine learning, etc.) to perform data analysis.
    • Ensure data compilation and analysis are clearly documented and adhere to standards and best practices.
    • Perform peer reviews to ensure data analysis is conducted in accordance with the Bureau practices and standards.
