Informatics and Analytics Program Manager

  • SUMMARY:
    The Informatics and Analytics Program Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of health informatics projects and initiatives that drive improvements in patient care, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Informatics Officer.
    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
    • Performs project management and technical leadership for assigned health informatics projects.
    • Provides expertise and support in the optimization of use of clinical information systems and implementation of clinical applications.
    • Applies health informatics strategies to optimize and enhance EHR workflows, documentation, data capture, and reporting.
    • Leads the development of analytics capabilities to generate insights from clinical and operational data and support data validation, data-informed decision-making, and performance improvement.
    • Provides or arranges for end user training and support. Designs communication and training content to educate end users on optimal workflows for EHR documentation and on important changes and enhancements with the clinical systems.
    • Monitors end user adoption and appropriate use of current and newly implemented information technology and functionality. Develops and implements plans to address deficiencies.
    • Provides critical analysis and evaluation of Epic workflow and recommends revision of clinical systems, processes and workflow to ensure achievement of positive patient outcomes.
    • Develops provider performance and value-based program reporting capabilities that drive improvement. Creates reports. Assists with identifying opportunities for performance improvement based on data analysis and benchmarking.
    • Assists with design, build, and implementation of new EHR content and clinical decision support.
    • Participates in and assists with coordinating UAT.
    • Works collaboratively with senior leaders, IT, and teams responsible for data collection, clinical content, workflow, training, quality, reporting, and technical assistance.
    • Leads, mentors, and manages assigned staff to achieve departmental goals.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field plus three (3) years of related experience in a healthcare setting.
    • Informatics education or certification preferred.
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with EPIC EHR system required.
    • Experience in information systems implementation, development, training, and support.
    • Experience with healthcare data analysis, reporting, and use of visualization tools, such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
      • Preferred: At least one current Epic application certificate
      • Preferred: Project management experience or certification
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
    • Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and timelines effectively.
    • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
    • Knowledge and understanding of medical terms and code sets.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of quality improvement and change management principles and methodologies.
