Health Informatics Manager manages a clinical biostatistics or health informatics team. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. Being a Health Informatics Manager monitors latest software and technology to keep processes up-to-date and efficient. Communicates with analysts, healthcare providers, and management to establish new processes and analyses, and to tailor current data processes to best help providers. Additionally, Health Informatics Manager requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Health Informatics Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Health Informatics Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS: Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology (IT), the Clinical Informatics Nurse is responsible for providing system workflow analysis, training, guidance and support for users of Electronic Medical Records gathered and stored in NextGen, CPSI and possibly other systems. The Clinical Informatics Nurse performs regular visits, interaction and staff shadowing sessions with physicians and staff in their offices. Works with clinic staff and physician’s to get the most out of our computerized solutions with the least amount of effort.
Qualifications
Incumbent must be a Registered Nurse with significant knowledge of computers, have experience with adult education and at least 2 years of experience working with physicians in a clinic or hospital setting using Nextgen and/or CPSI Software. Candidate will be highly proficient with using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook software. Must possess a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license and vehicle capable of traveling between clinics on a daily basis. Must have Bachelor’s Degree or able to obtain within 3 years.
