Health Informatics Manager manages a clinical biostatistics or health informatics team. Oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care. Being a Health Informatics Manager monitors latest software and technology to keep processes up-to-date and efficient. Communicates with analysts, healthcare providers, and management to establish new processes and analyses, and to tailor current data processes to best help providers. Additionally, Health Informatics Manager requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Health Informatics Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Health Informatics Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The Director of HIT & Informatics will develop and identify clinic workflow deficiencies while implementing change management to execute positive workflow system change within the organization and core business systems to improve efficiencies, quality, and compliance.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Lead role in developing enhancements to the health information technology systems, and data quality capture of data elements that will assist in more accurate reporting of core quality metrics needed in the organization.
    • Designs templates that best meet the workflow needs of the clinical staff to increase workflow performance.
    • Implements effective workflow change management strategies to increase clinic efficiencies.
    • Host monthly EHR development meetings that are focused on driving the development of the EHR to meet the needs of the clinicians and overall organizational requirements.
    • Interacts with director or manager stakeholders across the enterprise, understanding the end user needs.
    • Strong presentation skills required, with ability to effectively communicate to leadership teams on strategic priorities and ancillary programs throughout the organization.
    • Utilizes various data sources and analytic tools to creatively solve complex needs.
    • Works closely with various functional teams within Managed Services to define, track and achieve objectives.
    • Facilitates realization of business objectives by analyzing, interpreting, visualizing trends, creating predictive models for forecasting, and optimizing business processes for enhanced performance.
    • Completes analytical reports and presents insights to key stakeholders and business partners, recommending solutions and after discussion executes an implementation plan.
    • May assist with or be responsible for the development and delivery of standardized reports and analysis, for internal and external use.
    • Work with vendor partners to identify and resolve defects or enhance solutions.
    • Develops and maintains a collaborative & effective communication protocol for notifying key staff when changes are made or need to be made to standard operating procedures and directives.
    • Participates in efforts to improve capabilities, process improvement and technology projects.
    • Develop ongoing Tips & Tricks Lunch-and-Learns with Providers and Staff to demonstrate new methods of using our electronic medical record Avatar Netsmart.
    • Assists in formulating reports associated with quality metrics.
    • Responsible for core priority regarding EMR system rollouts, upgrades, and testing.
    • Provides support to administrative and clinical teams in solving system issues.
    • Other duties as required.

    Experience and Skills:

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
    • Supervisory experience, preferred.
    • High visibility and engagement across organization.
    • Identify workflow issues in various clinics while implementing optimized changes.
    • Excellent documentation, presentation, and training skills.
    • Process Improvement and change management skills.
    • Detail oriented and able to see the overall high level strategic position.
    • Significant experience with implementation and use of an EMR.
