Health Information Services Director directs and oversees all policies and procedures related to healthcare information management. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the medical records and transcription departments. Being a Health Information Services Director reviews processes and identifies areas for improvement taking into account user needs. May act as liaison between information services and technology department, ensuring that systems are accessible and in accordance with the needs of the organization. Additionally, Health Information Services Director ensures that all record keeping and information disbursement complies with HIPAA regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Information Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Position Summary:

    This position is responsible and accountable for development and implementation of results focused, innovative solutions for a wide range of activities related to technology, process reengineering and improvement. This position is also a project manager or implementation of mission critical programs that serve to support effective business operations, improve performance, and achieve Organizational initiatives and goals.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Establishes and Manages information technology vendor and suppliers relationships and provides support to department executives related to delivery of services by these vendors.
    • Drives results by re-engineering and enhancing management information systems by identifying best in class information systems technology opportunities and developing application strategies.
    • Drives results by assessing and improving information technology systems effectiveness by auditing all aspects of company processes and procedures. Analyzing, researching, and recommending improvements to current systems and infrastructure.
    • Provides guidance, business context and technical leadership in the development of system departmental reporting, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
    • Continually assess Matrix technology needs, development and oversight of both long term and short-term plans and makes recommendations to Leadership Team on areas of improvement.
    • Drives results by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising effectiveness of all management systems.
    • Works directly with third-party IT partner to verify equipment is installed correctly and timely and inventory list is updated regularly.
    • Establish an overall plan to successfully implement all necessary hardware and software technology deployment/initiatives and reports to Leadership Team on schedule, adoption rate and user satisfaction.
    • Drives new technology implementations and trains other employees on the software.
    • Development, training, coaching, counseling, of employees through initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Accomplishes financial objectives by determining service level requirements; assisting executive leadership in preparation of an annual information systems and corporate level budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
    • Support Matrix Executive Leadership by providing accurate and timely reporting on IS/IT activities and return on investment analysis for systems expenditures.
    • Establishes and maintains safe and healthy working environment including but not limited to establishing and enforcing organization standards, adhering to legal regulations related to the Matrix workforce.
    • Assesses system stability across all company platforms, ensuring that technological resources work reliably, meet production goals, and will function into the future.
    • Supervising security efforts to prevent breaches from external and internal threats, ensuring that data and information is both and confidential and safe.
    • Performs day to day tasks as it relates to employee technology devices and support and works to increase user satisfaction and adoption of new systems and technologies.
    • Safeguards assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Maintains a complete knowledge of all operations systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Regularly performs risk assessment and analysis to all aspects of the projects.
    • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
    • Will sit on the leadership team.

    Requirements

     

    Required Job-Related Specifications:

    · Working knowledge of Quality Management and Quality Control as a discipline.

    · Strong technical and programming skills within the Microsoft Office spectrum.

    · Database architecture and design experience. SQL is preferred.

    · HTML and other programming skills as needed.

    · Strong working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols.

    · Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal/external partners.

    · Be able to thrive in a team oriented and collaborative working environment.

    · Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability.

    · Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    · Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

    · Must be willing to travel within the course and context of the business needs and requirements.


    Education, Experience and Certifications:

    · Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field is required.

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in IT operations.
    • Minimum of three (3) years overseeing IT teams and projects.
    • Must have valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by company insurance carrier.

    • Yes

    Physical & Other Requirements:

    · Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, up to 50% of the time.

    · Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.

    · While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to walk, climb stairs, and climb ladders regularly. Additionally, employee will have to use hands and arms to reach, handle and feel, as well as to hear and speak while performing the duties of this position.

    · Judgment, decision-making, follow-up, social awareness, reading/writing, organizational, timeliness, stress tolerance, communication (oral and written).


    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
