Health Information Services Director directs and oversees all policies and procedures related to healthcare information management. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the medical records and transcription departments. Being a Health Information Services Director reviews processes and identifies areas for improvement taking into account user needs. May act as liaison between information services and technology department, ensuring that systems are accessible and in accordance with the needs of the organization. Additionally, Health Information Services Director ensures that all record keeping and information disbursement complies with HIPAA regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Information Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Health Information Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     As a part of the Management team, the Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor oversees the staff involved in thereceipt, processing, maintenance and distribution of all Protected Health Information.The supervisor is responsible for overseeing all functions of the HIM department and ensuring efficient patient flow within the Practice to best enable the providers delivery of quality, timely, cost effective patient care.The HIM Supervisor exemplifies the CVM culture for cohesiveness and consistency throughout all Practice locations. This position and their departments must reflect the desired images of a professional, high quality cardiovascular practice.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education and Experience:High School Diploma required. Graduate of Health Information Management Program preferred or minimum of three years experience as HIM Workforce or comparable experience/training/education. Experience and/or formal training on the Electronic Health Record.

    • Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:None required.


    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position will be evaluated based on the following areas:

    • Oversight of HIM Staff working at all sites, including remote
    • Maintenance and process improvement of processes surrounding the receipt, processing, maintenance and distribution of all Protected Health Information, which includes maintaining a working knowledge and understanding of thepositions/duties within the department.
    • Coordination of service relationships that impact the processing of information
