Health Information Services Director directs and oversees all policies and procedures related to healthcare information management. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the medical records and transcription departments. Being a Health Information Services Director reviews processes and identifies areas for improvement taking into account user needs. May act as liaison between information services and technology department, ensuring that systems are accessible and in accordance with the needs of the organization. Additionally, Health Information Services Director ensures that all record keeping and information disbursement complies with HIPAA regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Information Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Full-time, 40 hours per week. Will be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignments and projects.
Responsible for assisting the Director in leading and developing the Health Services line of business. Support in the management of all operational phases from business capture to requirements delivery, driving the growth and stability of the Health Services Division. Establish and ensure adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets. Participate in proposing, negotiating, and preparing contracts by considering the financial conditions, resources, and contractual requirements. Develop solutions for business capture and ongoing programs. Direct assigned Program Managers, peers, and subordinates from various teams, departments, and companies. Form, mature, and grow teams to accomplish program objectives with increasing complexity. Assist in establishing procedures and work instructions that produce consistency and quality. Must be capable of identifying and overcoming problems with minimal supervision.
Forms teams and supervises Program Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers, and Team Leads as assigned.
Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling and working with small objects. Seeing up close, must not be color blind and must be able to wear protective eyewear.
