The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the nursing department to ensure  quality patient care and service. This position oversees staffing and scheduling, assists with patient management, and develops and implements policies and procedures. 
The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest level of care.

Assitant Director of Nursing (ADON) Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise direct, and evaluate the nursing staff and provide feedback
• Assist in developing, implementing and evaluating policies, procedures and systems
• Manage te scheduling of staff and ensure adequate coverage
• Assist with assessing patient care needs, developing care plans, and monitoring progress
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements
• Assist in budget development and management
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
• Complete and update residents general care plan and/or nursing care plan every six (6) months and regarding any change of condition
• Assist in admission progress review, physician report and pre-admission assessments
• Maintains and reinforces infection control policies and procedures and coordinates with the local DOH for any related and existing IP issues of the facility

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing 
• Current Registered Nurse RN License
• Clinical experience in nursing preferred 
• Experience in a supervisory role
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and understanding of healthcare regulations and standards
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to multitask and provides tasks effectively 
• Knowledge on infection control/prevention
