Health Information Services Director directs and oversees all policies and procedures related to healthcare information management. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the medical records and transcription departments. Being a Health Information Services Director reviews processes and identifies areas for improvement taking into account user needs. May act as liaison between information services and technology department, ensuring that systems are accessible and in accordance with the needs of the organization. Additionally, Health Information Services Director ensures that all record keeping and information disbursement complies with HIPAA regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Health Information Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. In this position, you will supervise the resident care provided by licensed and non-licensed personnel while maintaining, or exceeding WHV standards. The successful candidate will monitor care for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; complete staffing schedules for proper coverage to meet the resident needs; observe residents’ health status and take actions to address concerns, and perform ongoing assessments on residents’ physical and psycho-social needs. There is an on-call aspect to the position as well as the need for occasional evening, nights, and/or weekend work. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent time management skills.
